Farewell & Welcome

In 2024 we had to say goodbye to some longstanding representatives in the CLUSTER network:

From TU Eindhoven we said farewell to Laurent Nelissen during the Steering Committee in Aalto. After several years of active involvement he passed on his role to Ines Lopez Arteaga. She will be the new TU/e representative in CLUSTER going forward.

For Grenoble INP-UGA we welcome Lorena Anghel who will replace Eirini Sarigiannidou. We thank Eirini for all the knowledge, input and advise she offered during the CLUSTER meetings.

Mirko Varano, chair of the WG GAST (Grant Application Support Team) and one of the longest standing CLUSTER representative, was presented with an incredible opportunity and decided to leave KTH. For more than 14 years, he provided outstanding assistance in numerous project proposals and meetings. We wish him the best of luck in his new position.

Lastly, from IST Lisboa, we say goodbye to Fátima Montemor and welcome IST’s newly appointed VP for International Affairs Zita Martins. Additionally, we are also introduced to Luis Almeida Moreira who will replace another longstanding CLUSTER member Ana Pipio. She first joined the network in 2010 as the CLUSTER Coordinator during IST’s presidency. Ana has been an engaged participant for 14 years and shared her vision and knowledge for the benefit of our network. She was also the chair of the working group Associated Partners for many years, a position that has now been filled by Guylaine Larocque from Polytechnique Montréal.

We give our heartfelt gratitude to our departing representatives and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors, and we look forward to collaborating with the new members.
