Innovative Doctoral Training event October 13th in Brussels

As societies become more complex and technology-driven, continuing innovations in doctoral training are essential to respond to the growing demand for an increasingly diverse research talent. While prioritizing research excellence, this increasingly requires that doctoral candidates are equipped with the skills to be autonomous, creative, critical and entrepreneurial.

Approximately 80% of new PhDs at Universities of Science and Technology go on to pursue a professional career outside of academia. Responding to this development is a significant challenge for Universities of Science and Technology, especially in view of their increasing intentions to the “third mission” of addressing societal challenges.

This event will bring together the five principal European associations of Universities of Science and Technology with the aim of presenting the state of the art in relation their strategies and best practices in implementing the Principles of  Innovative  Doctoral Training. The event will provide the occasion to launch these associations’ joint paper on this topic, as well as promoting open discussion among the key European stakeholders and the audience.

Members and none members are cordially invited to participate in this event. The event will take place at Science 14 Atrium in Brussels on Tuesday October 13 at 9:00 hours.
